Burrard St Bridge Clearance Test

Last week the guys at Fraser Yacht Sales took Aurora out to check clearance under the Burrard Street Bridge, our gateway out of False Creek into English Bay.  This was a "practical" test, as they of course know the air draft of the vessel (91' 10"), and the height under the bridge at high tide (91' 6").  The problem with clearance under the bridge isn't so much the bridge itself, it's the bird netting draped underneath.  They took her out at a mid-tide, I believe it was about 11 feet (about 5 feet lower than high tide), and just crept up to the edge of the netting, with Mike up the mast.  Consensus is that she'll get through, (preferably at a lower tide!), might need the help of a pole to push the netting out of the way a bit, and the antennae and lightning diffuser will be either swivelled down or put on once she gets to Deep Cove.
